Transportation Planner / Environmental Planner (Sacramento Job)
Large and highly established multi-disciplined Engineering, Environmental, and Construction Management Company actively seeks full time Transportation Planner / Environmental Planner for our Sacramento office. Under the general direction of a Transportation Program Manager the ideal candidate will provide technical expertise to diverse planning projects throughout the west region. As lead Planner and technical consultant may be involved in land utilization, urban planning, transportation or environmental projects. Planner will apply technical professional competency in Intelligent Transportation Systems technology to the investigation of transportation planning, engineering, traffic congestion modeling; coordinates project activities. Will prepare preliminary plans and documents working under the general direction of the Senior Program Manager. May lead project-specific teams, support direct interaction with clients for progress meetings, design reviews, project production and delivery. Collaborates in the design and development of ITS concepts including requirements analysis, technology review and selection, operational concept development and communication, specifications development and testing. Researches feasibility of alternative approaches, technology capabilities, deployments, cost/benefits and client/regulatory agency specifications; makes appropriate recommendations. Typical job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ? Defining scopes of projects, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating planning projects ? Coordinate preparation of technical reports and project submissions ? Participate in client negotiations ? Monitor work progress and conformance to technical standards and regulations ? Manage planning projects and budget compliance, deadlines and quality control. ? Prepare planning and site design concepts for special clients, governmental agencies or commission hearings ? Routinely manage projects Requirements: ? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or related field. ? Public agency experience desired. ? AICP or PE Certification desired. ? Typical 7+ years of industry related experience (environmental planning) ? Strong technical writing and communication skills are expected at this level, proven through technical presentations, technical papers and/pr participation in technical committees. Salary: $65K- $85K/yr DOE + fully comprehensive benefits package for you and family.
